Partnership Opportunities

Partnership Priorities | Other Partnership Opportunities | Contact

In fiscal year 2007, NeighborWorks® America and its network invested more than $3 billion in the neighborhoods we serve. Our success is due to leveraging federally appropriated funds with contributions from corporations, local governments and foundations whose mission aligns with ours—to create opportunities for people to live in affordable homes, improve lives and strengthen communities. Partnership opportunities including sponsorships, volunteerism and other forms of support are available.

Partnership Priorities-

NeighborWorks America’s current partnership priorities include:

  • Creating Sustainable Homeownership InitiativeIncrease homeownership in America’s low- to moderate-income communities through homeownership education and counseling, HomeOwnership Center services and programs, financial fitness programs and the development of more nonprofit mortgage brokers

  • Preserving Homeownership InitiativeBe part of a comprehensive approach to create sustainable intervention, outreach and foreclosure prevention programs and services

  • Professional Community Development Training and Education Initiative Prepare community development practitioners to deliver high-quality services and empower resident leaders to revitalize their communities through regularly scheduled training and professional certification programs. Additionally, this initiative will provide more scholarships for those without the means to attend needed training programs.

  • Revitalization through Volunteerism Initiative Bring residents and volunteers together and celebrate success in community revitalization including a weeklong event of projects and programs located in communities coast to coast

  • Taking Nonprofit Leaders to the Next Level InitiativeHelp nonprofit leaders to move their organizations to a higher level of effectiveness and sustainability through an intense educational training and development program offered in conjunction with Harvard University

  • Rebuilding Lives in the Gulf Coast Region InitiativeHelp rebuild and stabilize the Gulf Coast Region through an ambitious plan to have 10 NeighborWorks organizations and Housing Resource Centers serve 100 communities and provide 100 scholarships annually to NeighborWorks Training Institutes for nonprofit industry leaders working in the Gulf. The plan calls for training 1,000 resident leaders to initiate revitalization and community building efforts in their neighborhoods and ensure that 10,000 new or rehabilitated, affordable homes are available for Gulf residents and hurricane-impacted families. Additionally, the plan includes preservation, homeownership opportunities and financial asset protection for 100,000 families as well as an overall investment of $100,000,000 in the Gulf Coast Region

As a NeighborWorks partner you will have access to a variety of benefits including a national platform with more than 240 NeighborWorks organizations serving more than 4,700 communities nationwide. We invite you to support NeighborWorks® and create opportunities for thousands of Americans seeking to improve their lives.

Other Partnership Opportunities

  • NeighborWorks Rural Initiative - Focuses on building the capacity of rural community development organizations in the areas of housing and economic development activities.
  • Neighborhood Housing Services of America (NHSA) - Offers investment opportunities as the provider of secondary market services for the NeighborWorks network. Funds to purchase or originate loans are raised by making private placements of NHSA notes at below-market rates with investors who are responsive to the homeownership and neighborhood revitalization goals of the NeighborWorks network. The notes are backed by the income stream on the loans plus credit enhancement. Investors are typically insurance companies, savings and loan associations, commercial banks, pension funds and foundations. If you are interested in supporting NHSA, contact Jack Gilbert, senior vice president Investor Relations at (727) 669-5246.
  • Neighborhood Capital Corporation (NCC) - Serves as an intermediary for the community development corporations that participate in the NeighborWorks Multifamily Initiative. If you would like more information on NCC, click here. If you are interested in supporting NCC, contact Jim Ferris at: jferris@neighborhoodcapital.org
