NFMC Program Report Shows Counseling Significantly Helps Clients Avoid Foreclosure

NFMC study finds counseling has helped troubled borrowers keep their homes

National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling Program (NFMC) clients are sixty percent more likely to avoid losing their homes than homeowners who don’t seek counseling, a new study finds. In addition, NFMC Program counselors help homeowners reduce their mortgage payments an average of more than $5,000 per year. Read news release. Download report. Read Washington Post article.
