Become a Faculty Member

To become a faculty member with NeighborWorks® America, you first must be a qualified expert in your field. Second, with few exceptions, you must be a practitioner with hands-on, day-to-day experience in your area of expertise. While theory is important and we occasionally use the expertise of faculty from universities, the vast majority of our faculty members are practitioners. Third, you should have a great deal of field experience. The majority of our faculty members have more than 15 years of field work. We recommend no less than 10 years.

If you wish to be included in the pool of consultants from which we choose faculty members, first you need to complete a request for qualifications (RFQ) application. Once you have done this, we will evaluate your qualifications. If after review you are selected as a potential faculty member, you will receive a letter of agreement, which places you in our pool for a five-year period. If asked to train, your active letter of agreement will be the basis for our issuing you a task order for each individual training or other task.

Searching for Qualified Professionals to Become Foreclosure Trainers

NeighborWorks America and the NeighborWorks Center for Homeownership Education and Counseling (NCHEC) is interested in expanding its pool of qualified consultants to provide classroom training at the NeighborWorks Training Institute and select place-based training events.   If you have a depth of knowledge in foreclosure intervention counseling and/or loss mitigation and would like to receive consideration as a member of the NeighborWorks faculty, complete and return the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) Application.

Specific experience and expertise is being sought in the areas of: foreclosure intervention and counseling, loss mitigation and loan servicing. Applicants without these specific qualifications need not apply.

Additionally, we are looking for consultants with extensive experience in the areas of one-on-one homeownership counseling, credit counseling and reverse mortgage counseling.  Those possessing a depth of knowledge in these areas who also have experience providing classroom instruction are particularly encouraged to apply.

Applicants responding to this RFQ must:

  • Possess a minimum of five years of experience in one or more of the above referenced content areas in order to be considered.
  • Have the ability to avail themselves for four or more training events annually-lasting two to five days. The ability to travel is required.

Only candidates of interest will be contacted for further follow-up and consideration.  Those selected will be subject to an evaluation, orientation and development process as established by NCHEC.  Training assignments will be contingent upon how candidates perform during this process.  Click here to learn more about the NeighborWorks RFQ process.
