Every city in the United States has neighborhoods that are troubled with deteriorating housing, streets and sidewalks in disrepair, crime that keeps families indoors, and residents who have lost their sense of neighborhood pride. Residents and professionals representing all sectors — from community-based organizations to private foundations, government to corporate America — are involved in neighborhood revitalization efforts. They are working for more livable places where families can live, work, and play.

NeighborWorks America's training division continues to champion these efforts and offers the Community and Neighborhood Revitalization Professional Certificate. This groundbreaking curriculum focuses on transforming neighborhoods that lack community vitality and suffer from stagnant or declining property values into neighborhoods of choice for current and future residents — places where it makes sense for neighbors and others to invest their time, energy and money. Participants who earn the Professional Certificate will come away with the knowledge and tools to meet these challenges and facilitate positive neighborhood change.
